TEXAS — Leave something valuable behind in your rideshare vehicle? You're not alone in the Lone Star State. Three Texas cities are rank in the top 10 of most forgetful, according to Uber’s 2024 Lost & Found Index.

Whether it’s clothes, a toupee, luggage or a vape, Uber ran down a list of items most forgotten by riders in cities across America. In Texas, Houston lands at No. 4, Dallas at No. 5 and Austin at No. 10. 

Riders have left a myriad of things behind, including food. An entire smoked pot belly, leftovers from Pizzeria Portofino, a cooler with meat (someone ruined a barbecue) and even ice cream cones are some of the most unique food items left behind, according to Uber.

  • Jan. 21 is the "most forgetful day"
  • The most popular times for things to get lost are 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.
  • The most popular color of lost items is red
  • If you drive a Mini Cooper, the chances of leaving your keys behind are high. Those being the most collected car keys
