UVALDE, Texas — A teen has been arrested for allegedly making threats toward Uvalde schools, according to the Uvalde Police Department.

Police said the incident happened Monday, Oct. 17. According to police, Uvalde CISD officials contacted them regarding threats made by a student.

Investigators went to the home of the student and parents, where the student admitted to making the threats on social media.

The 16-year-old student was charged and taken to a juvenile detention facility. 

On May 24 of this year, a gunman entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde and killed 19 students and two teachers. The investigation into the mass shooting is ongoing.
