SAN ANTONIO — WWE’s Royal Rumble is making its fourth go-round in San Antonio. According to a news release, the 35-year-old event will be held at the Alamodome on Jan. 28, 2023, and 30 men and 30 women will duke it out in their gender class to claim the number one contender spot for the championship. This will mark the third time the Alamodome has hosted the Rumble.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg is delighted with the city hosting the event and the positive gain it will bring to the community.
“We are thrilled to bring back one of WWE’s most exciting events of the year to San Antonio,” said Nirenberg. “Royal Rumble will bring tens of thousands of WWE fans from around the world to the Alamodome, bringing both an incredible economic boost to our beautiful city and community outreach events that will give back in a multitude of ways.”
Chief content officer Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, broke the news of the Royal Rumble host while visiting Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny at a San Antonio concert at the Alamodome. The musician made his wrestling debut at WrestleMania 37 in Dallas, Texas.
Rumor has it that Bad Bunny could make a return to WWE, according to numerous wrestling news sources.

Also, Royal Rumble Priority Passes will be accessible Friday, Sept. 9 at 12 p.m. ET through On Location, the Official Fan Hospitality Partner of WWE. The passes offer fans VIP experiences that include premier seating, a dedicated stadium entrance, premium hospitality offerings and meet and greets with WWE Superstars and Legends.

Peacock will exclusively livestream the Royal Rumble at 8 p.m. in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else.
The male and female Royal Rumble winners are granted a championship match opportunity at WrestleMania in Los Angeles.
