GARLAND, Texas — Police are looking for a man they say shot and killed his girlfriend.

According to the Garland Police Department, on March 6, just before 9 p.m., officers went to an apartment community in the 2900 block of West Walnut, where two children were crying and asking for help. Officers learned the children’s mother was shot inside their apartment. When officers entered, they found her with a gunshot wound. Garland paramedics transported the female to the hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The details that led up to the shooting are still under investigation.

Investigators are now looking for 40-year-old Rodrigo Roman Villareal. Garland police believe Villareal fled the apartment after the shooting and is driving a blue Mazda 6, four door, with Illinois license plate P393720.

A murder warrant has been issued for Villareal. He is described as a Hispanic male, approximately five feet and nine inches tall in height, 135 pounds, and has black hair. Police says Villareal is believed to be armed and dangerous.

A reward of up to $5000 is being offered for any information that leads to his arrest.
