AUSTIN, Texas -- February is Black History Month, and in Texas, one woman gets her own special week.

Barbara Jordan's life and legacy are on display at the State Capitol this week. The annual interactive exhibit highlights the three-term congresswoman from Texas who was a first in so many areas.

She was the first African-American woman to serve in the Texas Senate, the first African-American woman elected to Congress from the South, and the first African American woman to deliver a keynote address at the Democratic National Convention.

The exhibit runs through Saturday.
