SAN ANTONIO -- This week’s high school scholar athlete is putting many to shame thanks to his incredible time management skills.

  • Involved in football, track and wrestling
  • Pursuing degrees in business and engineering

Whether it’s in the classroom or out on the track, Ryan Trevino has done it all at Samuel Clemens High School.

"I want to be able to portray myself in something that future generations at Clemens High School will be able to look towards, and be able to aspire to be," said Trevino.

Trevino is on his way to leaving behind a legacy like no other at Clemens. The goal-oriented three-sport athlete ranks number 15 in his class while living each day to the max.

Since his freshman year, Trevino has participated in football, track, and wrestling on top of keeping up with extracurricular such as National Honor Society, DECA, band, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

"I set goals for each week, and I set a goal for each month," said Trevino. "I have long-term goals as well."

Trevino has already been accepted into the Naval Academy, Baylor, Texas Tech, and the University of Texas.

As he continues to stretch forward, his mind is already set towards his bright future utilizing the connections he's making on and off the field.

"He works very hard," said Trevino's mother, Delisse Trevino. "He’s very self-motivated and strives to do his best."

What sets him apart from others, though, is his ability to be efficient with his time.

"Time management is very key in order for me to balance all of these certain things that I do, my extracurricular activities," said Trevino. "I like to do sports or working out at earlier times of the day, then I go through the day with academics and I do my skill sets at the very end of the day."

After pursuing degrees in business and engineering, Trevino aspires to someday become an entrepreneur.

"To start my own restaurant with a couple of my friends from my DECA organization," said Trevino.
