SAN ANTONIO – At a recent fashion show at Palo Alto College, students, campus staff, and Goodwill of San Antonio hit the runway to help celebrate America Recycles Day.
Students shopped at a second hand clothing stores and designed outfits based on what they found.
Shopping at used clothing stores can have two positive results; saving money at checkout while helping recycle gently used clothing.
By selling donated clothing which supports the mission of Goodwill of San Antonio, the non-profit has been in the business of sustainability for almost 75 years.
Palo Alto College is catching up. Since 2009, the college has recycled 530,000 pounds of paper, cardboard, plastic, metal and glass.
