SAN ANTONIO — Last week's severe weather caused the roof of the Travis Park Church's youth building to collapse.

- Hope to resume services this coming weekend
No one was hurt during the incident, but it's bound to take another week or two until things are back to normal at the historic church. Contractors and cleaning crews were on site this Monday, and TPC Director of Operations Cydni Bravenec says it's been a hectic time.
"It's still chaotic, but it's a very organized chaos now," Bravenec said.
The people of the church consider themselves and others lucky. The historic church has been playing host to ten of thousands of immigrants seeking asylum, and are very active in feeding the homeless in San Antonio. A water pipe burst during the collapse and flooded all three floors of the church and the basement. If it hadn't been for the support of the community, they wouldn't be where they are today.
"We actually started feeling support last Friday. We had a lot of our downtown community partners that just showed up. We hope to start mobilizing some volunteers probably starting the end of next week," said Bravenec.
The hope is to have church services resume within the sanctuary this weekend.
