SAN ANTONIO — A new Fiesta medal gives fans a unique way to celebrate and honor their loved ones who have died.
- "Ofrenda Medal" now on sale
- Acts as a mini Dia De Los Muertos altar
- $1 from each medal sold goes to K9s for Warriors
The "Ofrenda Medal" is a miniature version of a Dia de Los Muertos altar, which is used during celebrations on the first two days of November. The medal's stunning colors fill out the design which consists of a heart, flowers, cracked cascarones, and two burning candles.
The candles serve as a frame allowing people to insert a small picture of a loved one. The creator, Ray Linares, say this allows the medal to function as a customizable piece for fans to wear during the Day of the Dead or Fiesta celebrations.
Linares teamed up with SA Flavor manufacturer Garrett Heath to create and sell the $10 medal. A dollar from each medal sold will go to K9s for Warriors.
To purchase, visit the SA Flavor Store or the Fiesta Store.
