SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff briefed media Wednesday on the results of an FBI and Texas Rangers Raid of a Bexar County’s Constable Office on Monday.

  • Violated state constitution
  • Announced she was running for sheriff
  • Will have to resign after position is filled

According to Wolff, Precinct 2 Constable Michelle Barrientes Vela violated terms of the Texas Constitution after announcing she would be running for Bexar County sheriff.

Because of the announcement, she will have to resign after the position is filled.

The application was posted to www.bexar.org on Wednesday.

Interested candidates will have until noon on Monday, September 30 to apply and submit required documents. The position is expected to be filled by October 2.
