TEXAS — This week, the Trump administration announced it would divert billions in funds for military projects, including in Texas, to build a border wall.

It's a decision that's not sitting well with Texas lawmakers who represent the affected areas. Almost half the states in the nation will be impacted.

In San Antonio, Camp Bullis will miss out on a new $18.5 million dining facility. $20 million in road construction at El Paso's Fort Bliss will also get the ax.

"To take money away from real security needs and apply them to the political needs of the president, I think constitutes a real abuse of power," said Rep. Lloyed Dogget, D-TX 35th District.

The government will spend the military money on 11 wall projects in Texas, California and Arizona.
