SAN ANTONIO -- Tim Duncan is going back to work as an assistant coach for his former team, but it will actually be his second job.

  • Near Spurs practice facility
  • Used to Duncan's schedule
  • More bench changes for Spurs

Just down the street from the Spurs practice facility is one of two locations of the BlackJack Speed Shop.

The custom auto body shop opened seven years ago, and the staff is used to the All-Star’s hectic travel and practice schedule from his playing days.

Now that he’s returning to the bench, BlackJack’s CEO Jason Pena doesn’t seem concerned that Duncan will be too preoccupied for the shop.

"He's always going to be involved,” said Jason Pena. “Now, I think he's going to utilize some of his coaching techniques to help motivate and to help push us to do more and be more successful."

In addition to Duncan, the team also promoted Will Hardy to the bench. He’s been with the team since he graduated college in 2010, working his way up to assistant coach after starting as an intern.
