BOERNE, Texas — Support is growing in Kendall County for the family of Deputy Carlos Ramirez, who was hit and killed Tuesday during a traffic stop on Interstate 10.

The 100 Club of Kendall County is asking for donations to help his family. So far more than $11,000 has been raised. Ramirez leaves behind a spouse and two children.

"It kind of leaves a hole in your heart because everybody here is pretty much family. Even though it's growing, we're still pretty tight," Boerne resident Fred Navarro said.

"Everybody knows everybody. Everybody knows everybody's family. Everybody knows about everybody's struggles, their daily routines, their lives, it's very personal," said Kendall County Sheriff Al Auxier.

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office and the Boerne Police Department will be accepting donations around the clock and the Boerne Fire Department and Fair Oaks Police Department will be accepting donations during business hours.
