Nearly half of Texas voters would support the kind of ban on abortions in the early stages of pregnancy that lawmakers have recently passed in Mississippi, Ohio and Georgia. That's according to the latest University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll.
Forty-eight percent of those surveyed support making abortion illegal after six weeks, which is the point heartbeat activity can be detected. Another 42 percent said they oppose such a law.
It's one of several issues addressed in the latest polling from the two organizations. The poll’s co-director, James Henson, joined Capital Tonight’s Karina Kling to discuss the results, including how Texans feel about vaccinating children, public school spending and property taxes.
