AUSTIN, Texas – The 2019 Republic of Texas Bike Rally begins this weekend, which means residents should prepare for several street closures.

The event begins Friday, June 14, 2019 at 6 p.m. and ends Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 12 a.m. A majority of Congress Avenue will be closed for parade and events. 

PARADE ROUTE:
The parade will begin at 7:45 p.m. from the Travis County Exposition Center and heads south on Decker Lane to FM 969/East MLK Boulevard. They will then turn left on Webberville Road, left on Springdale Road, right on Oak Springs Drive and Rosewood Avenue, right on Pleasant Valley Road over the bridge, left on Chestnut Avenue, right on Rosewood Avenue, right on 11th Street, and left on Congress Avenue.

 

STREET CLOSURES :
Street closures on Congress Avenue include: Congress Avenue from Cesar Chavez to 11th Street and the side streets of Congress Avenue will be closed between Brazos and Colorado streets at 6 p.m. In addition, from 7:30 p.m.-3 a.m. Sixth Street from Red River to Congress Avenue will be closed.

 

 

TOWING INFORMATION :
Towing on Congress Avenue will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019. If you are towed, you can contact Southside towing at 512-441-7094 or by visiting the AutoReturn Website.

 

ALTERNATIVE TRAFFIC ROUTES :

  • North/South: Colorado and Brazos Streets
  • East/West: 11th and Riverside Dr.
