SAN ANTONIO — Some San Antonio kids are already gearing up for Christmas.

  • Ma Hila's Heart Project puts on event
  • 28 families invited this year
  • Donations needed

It's coming early this year thanks to an organization focused on bringing joy to families whose children are fighting for their lives.

The organization is called the Ma Hila's Heart Project. It does many things in this community, but one of its biggest events is Christmas in July.

The event is specifically for kids fighting cancer. This year, 28 families will be invited to spend a weekend downtown.

Children like Ivan will be treated to a Christmas party complete with gifts. His entire family will also enjoy dinner and a parade on the River Walk.

The event isn't until July but the kids are already getting excited.

Ivan will be one of 28 VIP's at the event. All of the costs for the families will be covered by sponsors. The organization is, however, looking for donations to buy Christmas gifts for the siblings of the VIPS.
