SAN ANTONIO — A resolution banning Chick-fil-A from Trinity University is being passed on to campus officials after the university's student government association voted on its removal last week.

  • Student government at Trinity wants Chick-fil-A removed from campus
  • Comes on heels of City Council vote to remove it from airport contract
  • Being relayed to the university's administration for consideration

This recommendation comes after San Antonio City Council voted to exclude the popular chain from the city's airport concession contract.

The resolution cites the company's $1.8 million in donations to anti-LGBT organizations, according to its most recent available tax returns. It also claims that Chick-fil-A earned a score of zero on the Human Rights Commission's Corporate Equality Index for failing to protect their LGBT employees from discrimination in the workplace.

Senators emphasized in the resolution that Trinity is committed to diversity and inclusion and by having the chain on campus is a conflict of interests.
