PEARSALL, Texas – A man is facing several charges after a standoff with police in Pearsall Monday afternoon.

The Pearsall police chief said officers were called to a home for reports of shots fired. A man was found with a gunshot wound, while a suspect fled the scene in grey Jeep.
The victim was able to identify the suspect, who police said they already knew for his previous arrests. Police tracked down the suspect in a nearby home.
A standoff ensued between police and the suspect armed with a shotgun. Eventually officers were able to enter the home where they saw the suspect armed with a gun walking around.
The police chief said due to the wet weather, the suspect slipped at the entrance of the home, which allowed officers to subdue him.
The suspect was believed to be intoxicated and has previously been charged with trespassing. The man is now facing charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal trespassing, and owning a weapon with a previous conviction. He was booked at the Frio County Jail.
