SAN ANTONIO -- The deadline to acquire a permit for short-term rentals with the City’s Development Services Department is Monday, February 11.

A separate permit, valid for three years, is required per individual unit. To apply for a permit, an account for the Hotel Occupancy Tax needs to be set up with the City’s Finance Department.
San Antonio’s City Council approved a short-term rentals ordinance in November of 2018, affecting only properties within city limits. To date, 539 permits have been issued in advance of this deadline. Staff will continue to assist citizens at our dedicated computer lab during normal business hours at 1901 S. Alamo St. from February 11 through February 14.
