SAN ANTONIO – H-E-B Partners decked the halls of more than 255,000 square feet at the Henry B. Gonzalez Conventer Center with holiday decorations in preparation for the “Feast of Sharing,” happening on Saturday.

  • Volunteers prepared thousands of pounds of food
  • H-E-B Pharmacy to provide free flu shots and other resources
  • Takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Volunteers worked to prepare 3,500 pounds of glazed ham, 202 gallons of gravy, 3,500 pounds of mashed potatoes, 2,625 pounds of green beans, 14,000 dinner rolls and 1,750 apple pies.

“It really capsulates H-E-B’s spirit of giving and what we want the holidays to be about, and that’s about coming together and sharing a meal with you neighbors, your family, your friends,” Julie Bedingfield with H-E-B Public Affairs said.

In addition to the meal and festivities, the H-E-B Pharmacy team will provide free flu shots. More than 20 social services booths will be on hand to provide resources, program information, health and wellness screenings and more.

The celebration is free and open to the public. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

H-E-B will sponsor free rides to the event from VIA and VIAtrans routes.
