SAN ANTONIO — There’s nothing like a great holiday light display, but some spots around town make their displays bigger and brighter every year.
Below is a list of spots in San Antonio and the surrounding area that have lights displays full of Christmas cheer.
Light the Way - University of the Incarnate World
For the last 30 years, families have gathered at UIW to enjoy the massive light display. Guests can enjoy a holiday shoppe with a variety of vendors as well as a food truck yard and Kids’ Corner.
Old West Christmas Lights Fest - 242 State Highway 46 West, Boerne, Texas
Guests can drive through a Christmas light display then step back in time to the Old West. The event is open each Thursday through Sunday evening from November 22, through Sunday, December 16, as well as every night from December 20 through December 29, including Christmas Eve and Christmas night. Hours are 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
The River Walk - 849 E Commerce St
Guests can enjoy a festive display of more than 100,000 lights along the Riverwalk path.
San Antonio Zoo - 3903 N. St. Mary’s Street
From November 17 to December 31 guests at Zoo Lights can stroll through an array of twinkling lights, enjoy the Lakeside Lightshow, and make a pit stop at the North Pole.
Santa’s Ranch - 9561 I-35 North, New Bruanfels, Texas
Guests can drive through the festive lights display and as well as enjoy the festive conessionstand full of delicious holiday treats. Tickets cost $28 per vehicle or $56 per vehicle for a season pass, and the event runs from November 3 to December 31.
SeaWorld - 10500 SeaWorld Drive
This year, the park decorated 250 acres with 9 million lights. Between November 17, 2018 and January 6, 2019 guests can enjoy several Christmas Shows, parades and visits with Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas - 17000 W IH-10
From November 17 to January 6, the park is hosting several holiday events and attractions that are fun for the whole family.
Windcrest Light Up - 8601 Midcrown Drive
The 60th annual Windcrest Light Up is a tradition in which residents decorate their homes with elaborate displays of holiday lights. The event runs December 8 through December 31. To pick up a map of participating homes, maps are available to the public at Windcrest City Hall at 8601 Midcrown Drive.
