SAN ANTONIO – Elizabeth Reyes, an educator at Memorial High School, will honor the lives lost in the Sutherland Springs shooting on Monday, November 5.

- Will cary Texas flag with 26 ribbons
Monday marks the one year anniversary of the tragedy.
Reyes will run 26 miles, one mile dedicated to each of the people who died. She will start in San Antonio and end in Sutherland Springs.
The community is encouraged to join her in honoring the victims.
The run will begin at the Comanche Park Trailhead, 2618 Risby Ave at 6 a.m. It will continue along County Road 87 and end at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs.
Throughout the run, Reyes will carry a Texas flag adorned with 26 white ribbons with the names and ages of each victim. The ribbons were hand-created by her students.
“People have asked if this is a group run or just me. This is all me,” Reyes said. “I will need all the love, support and prayer as I run and carry the spirit of the Sutherland Springs community.”
