SAN ANTONIO -- A San Antonio school district is encouraging local students to stand up to bullying.
Saturday, Edgewood ISD partnered with the Alamo Area Alliance of Black School Educators to host a symposium.
Middle school students from surrounding districts attended the event at Gus Garcia Middle School. Throughout the morning, students participated in breakout sessions focusing on different forms of bullying.
This included verbal abuse and hate crimes as well as how to respond and report incidents. This is the sixth year educators hosted the bullying symposium.
