SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead after he was shot by San Antonio police overnight on Wednesday.
Around 1:26 a.m. police were called to a report of an assault on the 200 block of Robert Street. People inside the home reported someone at the door selling something.
When police arrived they found the door open, and four people inside the home who began cursing at the officers. Police noted a gun in the waist band of one person in the home.
It is unclear what led up the shooting, but at one point shots were fired by police, leaving a man dead and another injured.
The officer who shot the man has been placed on administrative duty. The deceased man has been identified as 18-year-old Charles Roundtree.
