NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- One-hundred-twenty-five years of the Comal County Fair is no small feat. Every year, nearly 100,000 New Braunfels residents flock to the fairgrounds to take part in all the festivities.

"For our family, the fair has always been a experience that we look forward to," Kristee Wirebaugh said.

Kristee Wirebaugh and her daughter Presley Wirebaugh now have a new fair tradition. They've now both achieved Fair Queen status.

"I was Comal County Fair Queen in 1985," Kristee Wirebaugh said.

Her daughter is now a legacy.

"When I was announced the other night, I was so shocked and excited. I cannot wait to just represent Comal County well," Presley Wirebaugh said.

Fair president Sammy Sikes said everyone's favorite part about the fair is the feeling of home.

"Everybody is coming out. It's a time for people who have moved out of town to come back and really connect with family and friends and really enjoy the small town feel again," Sikes said.

"I've kind of raised my children to respect and enjoy the fair as well," Kristee Wirebaugh said.

Here's to the next 125 years, Comal County.
