SAN ANTONIO -- Two more people this week were arrested in connection with the kidnapping and sexual assault of an 11-year-old boy back in February.

This brings the total to three people now facing chrages.

Larry Gallegos is facing charges of aggravated kidnapping and trafficking and Frances Gallegos is accused of kidnapping. Those arrests are connected to the arrest of Laura Garcia last week.

According to arrest records, the boy said Garcia and Larry Gallegos approached him and his friend at a San Antonio park and acted like they were his parents.

Documents state they threatened him and dragged him to a nearby apartment complex where they held him down, injected him with drugs and sexually assaulted him.

The boy told authorities that he thought there were other adults in the apartment holding phones in the air who might have filmed what happened.

"Predators really can come from anywhere," said Roy Maas Youth Alternatives CEO Bill Wilkinson.

Wilkinson said parents should always be careful and to set up rules.

"If you are taken by somebody you don't know, one of the things you should be doing is saying 'This is not my parent! This is not my parent! This is not my father!' That kind of a thing because that's really a red flag for anyone in the area to say something's gone sideways here," Wilkinson said.

Wilkinson said parents should take the time to really listen to their child.

"They describe their environment all the time. They describe the children they hang out with, they describe the places they go, they describe the things that they like to do. It used to be that we would gather around the dinner table and we would talk about our day, and now those things happen less frequently," he said.

Wilkinson added that when you do get that chance to talk, make a mental catalogue of what the kids say and ask questions.

"Instill in them a sense of caution, while alowing them to still be curious about the world they live in," Wilkinson said.

The Texas Department of Public Safety cannot say which park the child was taken from or how he escaped. DPS said there could be more arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

Specturm News tried to reach out to the suspects in preparation for this story, but there is no attorney listed as of yet.
