SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Rose Palace, home of the George Strait Team Roping Classic, is closing its doors.

The Leon Springs venue, owned by Strait, officially closes Aug. 1.

Management thanked everyone involved in the Rose Palace, saying, in part:

"It’s not the goodbye that hurts, but the flashbacks that follow. We will always cherish our memories at the San Antonio Rose Palace."

All future shows are canceled.

The following statement was released on its Facebook page:

RP3 Management, who has had the pleasure of managing this iconic facility for a short while, was recently informed that the ownership has decided to close the doors effective August 1, 2018. We are told the property will be listed for sale and had to cancel all future shows for 2018 and beyond.
