More than 40 firefighters respond to vacant hotel fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Several firefighters are being treated while responding to a two-alarm structure fire near west Charlotte.

Just before 1 p.m., crews from the Charlotte Fire Department responded to the blaze at Berryhill Road at Wilkinson Boulevard.

More than 40 firefighters controlled the fire within 23 minutes at the three-story vacant hotel. Officials say six of the rescues are receiving IVs.

There are no reported injuries.

Update 2nd Alarm Structure Fire; 2400 Wilkinson Blvd; 6 firefighters receiving IV’s on scene by MEDIC. Taking care of firefighters is priority right now.
