SAN ANTONIO – Four people have been hospitalized after becoming trapped inside their vehicles during a wrong-way crash around 2:07 a.m. Monday.
A San Antonio police officer spotted a driving going the wrong way on Loop 1604. Moments later the driver crashed into another vehicle head on.
The vehicle that was hit had three passengers, who were trapped inside after the crash. The wrong-way driver was also trapped.
Police and EMS were able to rescue the drivers and passengers. They were transported to University Hospital.
Both of the drivers have life-threatening injuries. The passengers are in stable condition.
The wrong-way driver was assessed for driving while intoxicated at the hospital.
