SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Pets Alive is continuing to do their part when it comes to helping rebuild the Texas coast.
So far they have helped rescue more than 400 pets since Hurricane Harvey.
Right now more than 80 pups are heading to rescue organizations in Washington and Oregon. Some of these dogs are from the coast and others are from the city's shelter.
"Since the flooding has subsided and everything, a lot of attention has sort of shifted off of Houston, but animal shelters are still very overcrowded. The rescue partners, we have retained a relationship with them to continue to help them," said Clare Callison with San Antonio Pets Alive!
San Antonio Pets Alive said the dogs rescued from the hurricane are becoming very popular for families in northern states.
All these dogs are expected to be adopted within 1 or 2 weeks upon arrival.
