AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Farmer's Market celebrated women farmers over the weekend.
There are more than 120,000 women farmers across the state, making up about 33 percent of Texas' farmers.
To honor them, the market created a 2018 calendar featuring women farmers and ranchers.
"You know just out there in the world, it looks like, you know farmer, it's a man. So we really wanted to just bring light to all the women that were behind the scenes, running their own farms, or really central to bringing good local food to our Texas tables,” said Kate Payne, with the Texas Farmer's Market.
All proceeds for the calendar benefit Central Texas farmers and ranchers. There are two Texas Farmers Market in Austin at Lakeline and Mueller.
