SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- University of Texas at San Antonio leaders are exploring new ideas to attract more students to the heart of downtown.
Monday marked the 20th anniversary of the downtown campus and a panel met to discuss the future. As the landlocked downtown location is trying to grow, university president Taylor Eighmy said there’s plenty of room.
“I’m thinking vertical. I think that we have some property on our campus that can be developed. We have the adjacent Cattleman’s Square property that can be developed. Those give us plenty of places to start with,” Eighmy said.
UTSA officials would also like to add new academic programs like cyber science, urban education and entrepreneurship to the downtown campus.
