SAN ANTONIO — Construction on a new distribution center will begin this summer.
TJX, a global Fortune 100 company, plans to build a $150 million facility near Mission Espada.
It will include a 13-mile hike and bike trail and land for the Southside School District.
The project is expected to bring a thousand jobs to the area.
One city council member says she's proud they have chosen to build it on the south side of town.
"It's an exciting time, so much is happening, and it's bringing stability to our community, and it shows that the south side we are absolutely thriving,” said Rebecca Viagran.
The facility is expected to be open in December of 2018.
