Today is the last day to submit your unique design for a river barge.
In 2018, San Antonio will mark its 300th anniversary.
In honor of that milestone, the city wants to redesign the barges that carry people around the world famous River Walk.
Organizers say the current river barge design dates back to 1995, so it’s time for a more up-to-date model that captures the culturally rich and progressive features of the city.
That’s why judges will look for innovative designs that best depict San Antonio as a world-class city.
Today is the deadline for the competition which is open to local, national and international teams.
Cash awards will be given to the top three teams, with the first-place team receiving $20 thousand dollars, and bragging rights.
The city is teaming with The American Institute of Architects San Antonio Chapter for the competition.
You can register for the competition online at AIA's website, www.AIASanAntonio-riverbarge.org.
