The Will Smith Charitable Foundation brought some very special guests to the Witte Museum.
11 children from the dancing and drumming troupe Zenshin Daiko entertained dozens of people Sunday. The group, which traveled all the way from Hawaii, were invited to help teach Texas kids valuable lessons through the art of music.
“Life lessons, like responsibility and how to be a good person, how to learn something, how to put your mind to it and be motivated,” Performer Sarah Catugal said.
“We can learn so much from kids. That's one thing I have learned since I formed this foundation.
It really made me look inside and try and find a child myself,” Will Smith Foundation Founder Susan Moulton said.
Zenshin Daiko has performed in more than 800 events in Maui and throughout the U.S. The troupe also makes their own drums from used wine barrels.
