Nick Bradshaw is an award-winning journalist with Spectrum News 1 in Texas.
He believes strongly in in allowing the camera to write the story and paint the picture for his audience.
Nick has won an Edward R. Murrow Award, several Texas AP awards, and National Press Photographer Association awards.
He has covered several major stories including the West Explosion, Hurricane Harvey, the Midland Mass shooting, President Donald Trump’s visit to Texas, and the Church Shooting in White Settlement near Dallas. News and journalism have been in his blood since he was a young child. He remembers watching the nightly news with his grandparents. When it comes to storytelling, he believes real, everyday people tell the best stories. It’s not unusual for Nick to go find how current events are impacting the community.
He started his TV career at KTAB/KRBC in Abilene as a production assistant in 2001 and later moved into the newsroom. In 2011, Nick went to work for KTXS-TV in Abilene, where he started off as a photographer and became an MMJ. Nick has also worked outside of news for a few years as a drug prevention specialist and with youth at a juvenile detention center. There, he learned the importance of listening and sharing stories.
Outside of news and work, Nick is a music lover, especially old country and rock, he can name many songs on the first note. He also loves to travel and visiting New York City.
