AUSTIN, Texas — It wasn’t too long ago singer and actress Janelle Monáe shared she’d be releasing her “Age of Pleasure” album that’s to be available on June 9. Taking a little step back from movies, Monáe will soon embark upon a world tour of her new music. And Texans don’t need to worry about missing out, because Austin, Dallas and Houston are on her radar.
An eight-time Grammy Award-nominated singer, songwriter and producer, Monáe is internationally known for her fashion-forward style and iconic vocal sound. Her discography is an artistic expression of her outlook on female sexuality and other nuances that deal with identity. As someone who's nonbinary, she has a very profound voice within the LGBTQ+ community.
Monáe’s 26-city lineup for her "Age of Pleasure" tour will begin in Seattle, Washington, on Aug. 30. She’ll be traveling across North America.
In Texas, she’s scheduled to make three consecutive stops. Dallas will be the first Texas city, performing at the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory on Oct. 9. The Houston concert happens the next day, Oct. 10, at the Bayou Music Center. Her last Texas stop will be in Austin at the Moody Amphitheater on Oct. 11.
Tickets are on sale now, at least for the Verizon presale that started at 10 a.m. Using Verizon Up, exclusive presales are open to customers and they have until 10 p.m. on June 6 to choose a show. More presales will be accessible throughout the week. General ticket sales begin June 7 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.
