Karina Kling is a Midwest native and a Syracuse University graduate with a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. Karina began her journalism career in the capital city of Lincoln, Nebraska, where she jumped at every opportunity to cover political stories. From there, she knew covering politics was her calling. Today, Karina has nearly two decades of experience covering politics, first as a political reporter and now as anchor of Capital Tonight.
Karina is an Emmy-nominated and Associated Press Award-winning journalist. In each story Karina discusses on air, her goal is to get the various communities across Texas engaged in the politics and elections that affect them and ensure that everyone’s voice is heard. Karina doubles as a professor at Austin Community College, sharing her knowledge and experience of journalism with students aspiring to join the profession.
