The Rotary Club of Buffalo is giving back to local groups with a main goal of helping others in our community.

Rotary club members say the pandemic has made a bad situation worse for so many people who deal with hunger and poverty in Western New York.

That's why the club is spreading out $50,000 in donations to six different groups.

Of that money, $25,000 is going to FeedMore Western New York.

"That's the whole purpose of Rotary. That's why we joined,” said President Mike Sendor. “…To have fellowship amongst our members and to give back to our community. That's what we do."

Five organizations will receive $5,000 from the club. Those are Friends of the Night People, Compass House, St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy, Harvest House, and the Buffalo Prenatal-Perinatal Network.
