At long last, it’s the weekend! Below, you’ll find a quick guide — based on information from the MTA — to the biggest planned service changes on the city’s subways and rails.

Subway service changes
2, 3 and 5 trains in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan
Between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, 2 trains won't run between 3rd Avenue-149th Street and 96th Street in either direction. They will run along two routes, according to the MTA:
- Between Wakefield-241st Street and 3rd Avenue-149th Street during the day and evening, every 12 minutes
- Between 96th Street and and Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College
3 trains won't be running at all during that time, and 5 trains won't be running between East 180th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse in either direction. 5 trains will run along two routes during the day and evening:
- Between East 180th Street and Eastchester-Dyre Avenue all weekend
- Between 149th Street-Grand Concourse and Bowling Green every 20 minutes
Free shuttle buses will run along the 2 and 3 lines.
- The 2 shuttle buses will run in two routes - one that will make all stops between 3rd Avenue-149th Street and 96th Street, and one that will only stop at 3rd Avenue-149th Street, Grand Concourse and 96th Street.
- The 3 shuttle buses will make all stops between Harlem-148th Street and 96th Street.
D trains in Brooklyn
Between 3:45 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday, Coney Island-bound D trains will run on the N line between 36th Street and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.
Riders can transfer to a Manhattan-bound train at 62nd Street/New Utrecht Avenue or Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue for service to and from skipped D train stops.
E trains and JFK Airport-bound trains in Queens
Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, E trains will run in both directions between World Trade Center and Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike, but will run on the F line to and from Jamaica-179th Street.
Manhattan-bound E trains will skip Sutphin Boulevard and Briarwood.
Riders can take free shuttle buses for service to and from Jamaica-Van Wyck, Sutphin Boulevard-Archer Avenue-JFK Airport and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer.
Riders can take the LIRR to Jamaica or the A train to Howard Beach-JFK Airport for service to John F. Kennedy International Airport.
J and M trains in Brooklyn and Manhattan
Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, J trains won't be running in either direction between Hewes Street and Broad Street. They will run between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Hewes Street every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
M trains, meanwhile, won't run in either direction between Myrtle Avenue and Delancey Street-Essex Street.
M train rders can take the J train for service between Myrtle Avenue and Hewes Street. All commuters can take a free B106 shuttle bus for service between Hewes Street and Delancey Street-Essex Street.
Riders can take the L train for service between Brooklyn and Manhattan, and a 4, 5 or 6 train for service to Lower Manhattan.
1 trains in the Bronx and Manhattan
Between 5:45 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Van Cortlandt Park-bound 1 trains will run nonstop between 215th Street and Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street.
Riders can take a Manhattan-bound train to get to bypassed 1 train stops.
D trains in the Bronx
Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, Manhattan-bound D trains won't stop at 182nd-183rd Streets.
Riders can take a Norwood-bound train to get to bypassed D train stops.
F trains in Manhattan
Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, uptown F trains won't stop at 14th Street or 23rd Street. Riders can take a downtown F train for service to and from bypassed stations.
Uptown F trains, meanwhile, will stop at the express platform from West 4th Street-Washington Square to 47th-50th Streets-Rockefeller Center.
F and G trains in Brooklyn
Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-bound F trains and Church Avenue-bound G trains will run express between Smith-9th Streets and Church Avenue.
Riders can take a Manhattan-bound F train or a Court Square-bound G train for service to and from skipped stops.
N, Q and R trains in Manhattan
Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, uptown N, Q and R trains will run express between Canal Street and 34th Street-Herald Square.
Riders can take a downtown train for service to and from bypassed stops.
