CHARLESTON, S.C. - Normally in October, all the sports focus is centered on the football programs and Clemson and the University of South Carolina. However one other team is garnering a lot of attention right now, and it's not on the gridiron.

The New York Knicks tipped off their 2024 training camp at The Citadel this week. The team will use the coming weeks to build upon a solid season that included a run to game 7 in the second round of the playoffs.

This is not the first time that the Knicks have chosen the lowcountry train. Back in the 90's, former Knicks Head Coach Pat Riley brought his squad down to the College of Charleston.

Current head man Tom Thibodeau was nothing but complimentary of the area. “Beautiful place and a chance to get away. The players enjoy being able to get away. They can walk and go to nice restaurants,” said Thibodeau.
