Columbia, S.C. – The majority of South Carolina voters are in favor of amending the state's constitution to allow "only" U.S. citizens to vote in future elections.
This measure prohibits non-U.S. citizens from voting in South Carolina, changing the current verbage of "every" citizen, to "only".
According to the South Carolina Election Commission, over 1.9 million people voted “YES” on the supporting the prohibition of non-U.S. citizens from voting in South Carolina.
On the other hand, a little over 303,000 people voted “NO”, opposing the measure.
