Lowcountry organization offers free rides to the polls

SOUTH CAROLINA - If you live in the lowcountry, you can get a free ride to the polls on Election Day. The service is being offered by the South Carolina Coalition for Voter Participation.

You must live in the following locations to be eligible:

Berkeley
Calhoun
Charleston
Colleton
Dorchester
Georgetown
Lexington
Orangeburg

To access the service, call (843) 225-0822.

While polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the ride service will only be available from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
