COLUMBIA, SC — More than 1.4 million South Carolinians cast their ballots during the early voting period, which ended Saturday afternoon statewide.
According to early voting records, the 2024 early voting total tops the 1.3 million early votes cast in the 2020 presidential election.
Greenville County had the highest number of early votes with 143,463 votes cast. Charleston County followed close behind with 139,086 votes.
As of Sunday morning, 1,478,278 total voters (including absentee votes) have cast their ballot already in the 2024 election, roughly 43% of the state’s registered voters.
