COLUMBIA, S.C. - We are just weeks away from the start of the next legislative session in South Carolina and one of the most controversial bills in recent history is being reintroduced.
Originally proposed in January of 2023, the bill would see women who have abortions in South Carolina charged with homicide. An extension of that change would also mean that those women could also face the death penalty.
Although the bill failed to pass nearly two year ago, it has once again garnered the support of several sponsors.
The next state legislative session is set to convene on January 14, 2025.
