SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Local police say a coach for a Spartanburg County charter school was arrested during a football game Friday night.

The Inman Police Department arrested 24-year-old, Torrion Stevenson, a member of the coaching staff at Mountain View Preparatory School (MVP), after an alleged incident involving a police officer.

MVP’s football team was playing against Chapman High School when the arrested occurred.

According to an arrest report, Stevenson of Woodruff, South Carolina, is facing third-degree assault and battery, as well as public disorderly conduct.

Authorities booked Stevenson at the Spartanburg County Detention Center. He was later released around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
