COLUMBIA, S.C. — Eight South Carolina churches ranked in the top 100 of the fastest-growing churches in the nation, according to a report by the Lifeway Research Team.
Since 2015, the Lifeway Research team has compiled a ranking based from self-promoted surveys and solicited participation. Data is then verified and calculated on attendance averages, not membership. Churches that participated answered questions about in-person attendance for February and March of 2024 as compared to 2023.
The following South Carolina churches ranked in the top 100:
First founded in 1888, First Baptist of Simpsonville jumped 42 spots from last year’s ranking. The average attendance comes in at 4,236.
Based out of Conway, The Rock is a nondenominational church with an average attendance of 3,082. In 2020, the church ranked #77.
Located in Myrtle Beach, the Palmetto Point Church of God attracts an average attendance of 1,375.
LowCountry Community Church is a nondenominational church located in Bluffton South Carolina. Average attendance came in at 2,347.
Another Myrtle Beach church on the list, Beach Church is a nondenominational church with an average attendance of 1,554.
Based in North Augusta, True North Church is a nondenominational church first founded in 2004. Average attendance was reported at 2,445.
Another Simpsonville church in the top 100, Brookwood is a Baptist Church founded in 1993. Average attendance came in at 2,922.
First founded in 2014, Ekklesia Christian Church is yet another Conway church in the top 100. Average attendance came in at 1,698.
