COLUMBIA, S.C. - Relief is coming to those in South Carolina who were affected by Tropical storm Debby. 

Governor Henry McMaster requested assistance from the Small Business administration on Sept. 16. That request was then approved Sept. 19. 

This approval allows for businesses and residents impacted by tropical storm Debby between Aug. 4 and Aug. 22 to be eligble to apply for low interest disaster loans. 

The declariation covers Berkeley and Orangeburg counties, as well as counties adjacent to the following counties:

  • Aiken
  • Bamberg
  • Barnwell
  • Calhoun
  • Charleston
  • Clarendon
  • Colleton
  • Dorchester
  • Georgetown
  • Lexington
  • Williamsburg

Loans up to $500,000 are available for homeowners to repair or replace damage or destroyed real estate according to the declaration. 

The filing deadline for physical property damage is Nov. 18, while the application deadline for economic injury is Jun. 18, 2025.
