After starting day 2 of the NHL Draft by trading defenseman Conor Clifton, the Buffalo Sabres have added a number of players to their prospect pool.
The Sabres selected defenseman Radim Mrtka with the ninth pick of the NHL Draft Friday, they added another piece to the blue line by selecting Owen Sound (OHL) defenseman David Bedkowski in the third round. The 6-foot-5, 221-pound, right shot defenseman had seven points in 35 games this past year.
With a pair of picks in the fourth round, the Sabres drafted forward Matous Kucharcik 103rd overall and goaltender Samuel Meloche 116th overall.
In the fifth round, the Sabres selected defenseman Noah Laberge 135th overall pick.
The Sabres selected forward Ashton Schultz with the 167th overall pick.
The Sabres also hold three seventh round picks (195, 199, 219).
