A weakening cluster of storms will progress east overnight, arriving in our region by daybreak. While not expecting any storms to stay severe, a few showers and rumbles of thunder will be possible during tomorrow morning’s commute. We’ll see a lull midday, ahead of a more potent storm system.
A cold front will move east during the afternoon, triggering showers and thunderstorms along and ahead of it. There are some uncertainties regarding how widespread storms will become this afternoon. Depending on how the round of morning showers plays out and the speed of the front will determine the chances for later in the day. Temperatures will rise into the low to mid-80s.
South and east of the metro has the best chance at seeing storms become severe. The main risks will include damaging winds, hail and a brief tornado. It’s best to have your notifications enabled, so you are prepared for inclement weather.
The entire system will move east tonight as high pressure builds in behind it. Temperatures will drop into the upper 60s as skies become mostly clear.
A big ridge of high pressure builds into the region by late week, bringing our first taste of summer in time for the solstice. Temperatures will range from the low to mid-90s Thursday through Sunday.
